Applications
for Irish Work Permits
should be made to
the Work Permits
Section of the
Department of
Enterprise, Trade
and Employment,
Davitt House,
Adelaide Road,
Dublin 2.
The
employer requires a
work permit if they
wish to employ any
person who is not a
national of any EU/EEA
State. The
Department of
Enterprise, WORK
PERMIT SECTION,
examines
applications from
employers and issues
permits where they
feel it’s
appropriate.
There
is a fee that has to
be paid for all work
permits. Depending
on the duration of a
work permit the fee
will range from IR£25
to IR£125,
in
some certain
circumstances these
fees may be ignored
(e.g. registered
charities and
spouses of certain
diplomats).
Work
Permits are not
generally required
for the following:-
- Citizens
of the European
Economic Area (EEA).
-
- Persons
who have been
granted refugee
status.
-
- Persons
with permission
to remain as the
parent of an
Irish citizen.
-

graduate
students.

Ireland from an
overseas company
for training.
